Not a user of speedplay, but know people who love them and know people who couldn’t get on with them. If you use a different cleat system, you will need to adjust to speedplay - not sure what you get above any other pedal power meter?
Speedplay used to support different spindle lengths. So you could adjust the distance between the crank and your foot.
