I have my main event coming up later this year. I’ve read a lot about different taper styles and I’m a little confused on what I should be doing. For a little context, I am 53 years old, been training for a few years now, and average between 6-8 hours per week (obviously a little longer when I do a longer weekend ride).
Should I be resting the week before my event or something else? What do people do the day before as well?
